The world is changing. The ways we connect, work, and play are changing. This includes how we do or don’t do church. We need knowledge, tools, and skills to “BE” the church in this new reality.

In this blog, we share more of the why, what, and how of "being" the church according to Jesus. This week we want to let Jesus show us how to pray.

Jesus says, “Don’t pray like a hypocrite.” Be real. But why?

What can we compare prayer to?

How much is this going to cost me?

Now that we have talked about how prayer is listening, talking, and groaning, which one of the three do you do more of?

In the link below, we offer a tool to guide you through seven days of simple conversations with God. If you are up for the challenge, follow the guide to connect with God each day for the next week.

The world is changing. The ways we connect, work, and play are changing. This includes how we do or don’t do church. We need knowledge, tools, and skills to “BE” the church in this new reality.

In this third blog, we share more of the why, what, and how of "being" the church according to Jesus. It’s simple, but profound when implemented.

Making Disciples Means Making Friends

What is the Relational Triangle?

So to “BE” the church with one another, we need to have three conversations…

  • a daily life-giving conversation with God

  • a weekly soul-connecting relationship with another disciple

  • a weekly soul-connecting conversation with a non-believer or a not-yet disciple.

Any way you want to configure your church experience, if you are missing out on having any of those three conversations, you are not engaged in “being” the church. Take a minute right now to think about these three areas. How are you doing?

In the link below, we offer a simple tool to help you take small but significant steps to be able to initiate and sustain ongoing conversations with God and others. If you are up for the challenge, use this tool to kickstart your thinking.

Note that if you are like most of us, you need ideas and help doing this. In the coming blogs we will do just that--starting with how to have a daily life-giving conversation with God. You are on the cusp of becoming a contagious disciple!

Jesus says, “Make Disciples.” Will You?

The world is changing. The ways we connect, work, and play are changing. This includes how we do or don’t do church. We need knowledge, tools, and skills to “BE” the church in this new reality.

In this second blog, we share more of the why, what, and how of "being" the church according to Jesus. So come hike with us on the trail to becoming the church in an unsteady world.

Instructions to Believers

Love God, Love People, Make Disciples. But where?

What is a disciple? Part 1...A Friend of Jesus

What is a Disciple? Part 2...A Follower of Jesus

So to “BE” the church with one another, Jesus commissions us to make disciples. To make a disciple, we have to be one. How do we become a disciple? We become one by being a friend of Jesus and a follower of Jesus. When we consider following Jesus, what specific actions can we take to do that?

In the link below, we offer a simple tool to help you take small but specific steps to follow Jesus. We call it the “Following Jesus Challenge Tool,” and it comes directly from Jesus in Luke 9:23. If you are up for the challenge, take a few minutes to create your own personalized plan of action.

But don’t stop there; DO what you commit to do. When you do, you get yourself off the fence of mere observation of Jesus’ teaching and into the game of truly being His disciple.
